SISTER CITIES INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION

Founded in 2018, the purpose of the Sister Cities International Foundation is to raise legacy contributions and planned gifts in order to provide long term sustainable support for the mission and programs of Sister Cities International and its global citizen diplomacy network.

The Foundation Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteers who are both long standing citizen diplomats as well as seasoned nationally recognized Sister City International leaders.

You can help achieve the ongoing mission of Sister Cities International and the everyday work of citizen diplomats all around the world forever by making a gift to the Sister Cities International Foundation Legacy Endowment. 

An endowment is an enduring gift that provides income for years to come.  Sister Cities International Foundation established its Legacy Endowment to support the programs and services of today and into the future.

Endowments are like savings accounts.  Donations go into them and they stay in, invested permanently.  Only the income earned is annually used to fund our Sister Cities International programs and services.  Donors can endow a planned gift via a gift of cash, gift of stock or by making a special provision in their Will.

If you would like to designate an endowed gift to a specific purpose, the following Special Purpose Endowments have also been established:

Up to 4% of the earnings of all Foundation unrestricted and restricted gifts are provided annually for operational and programmatic support of Sister Cities International. The Foundation may assess a 5% establishment fee on all gifts restricted to specific purposes, as well as a 1.25 per cent management fee on the remaining balance of those endowments and funds restricted for a specific purpose. Gifts made to the unrestricted 1956 Society Legacy Fund are exempt from these fees. Income from these fees helps fund the Foundation’s operations and ongoing administrative expenses.
